I’ll give you the good news first: Sam’s Club is going to give a $25 gift card to one of you. Merry Christmas, right?!? More about that in a second.
This Christmas season has been…well…a little crazy to say the least. I think Will Arnett and Amy Poehler’s faces sorta sum up how we feel about everything.
Jonathan started chemo last Friday and besides it taking longer than anticipated, it went well. He got all warmed up with blankets, and then poked and prodded and asked lots of questions. There were dietitians and pharmacists and chipper nurses. There was also an AMAZING selection of magazines which means I’ll definitely be back. He doesn’t have a choice. I do. And, I’m in! 🙂 His weekend wasn’t so fun- his taste buds were affected and he had little appetite. But, he’s back at work today. I’m so proud of him.
In the midst of trying to be a super caregiver, I got the stomach flu on Sunday night which was basically a very cruel joke. I don’t usually question God when He throws tough things our way …I just figure He has a plan. But the flu? Really? Can’t say I didn’t question that one at 2:00am as Jonathan slept in the guest room (poor guy), the baby was crying, and I was in the bathroom with my head around the toilet.
On Friday at chemo I was checking my e-mail and received one from Sam’s Club. They saw the segment on Fox40 and wanted to know if I’d be interested in giving away a $25 gift card to their store. They mentioned that, at such a crazy time of year, it’s nice to have someplace you can go and get everything you need…from presents to food to decorations to car tires. Say what? Car tires. Yup. Even those.
The timing of her e-mail couldn’t have been better because I know I’m not the only one behind on shopping and wrapping. If you’re in the midst of your own holiday CRAZINESS, and you’re stressed because you just baked tons of bread for all your neighbors and then got sick and had to toss it all out (not that such a thing would happen to you), maybe Sam’s Club could be the perfect quick fix? Or, if you’re thinking you may not get the book/CD/electronic gadget on your wish list because you never actually told anyone it was on your wish list, then maybe you could win this gift card and just buy it for yourself. Either way, a $25 gift card is up for grabs.
To enter, leave a comment saying, “I want to win a Sam’s Club gift card!” The bonus question is to tell me something on your wish list this year. I’ll randomly select a winner on Friday, December 23. The card is redeemable at any Sam’s Club location nationally (there are four in the Sacramento area) or online. If you’re not a Sam’s Club member, the winner will also be given a one day pass to try it out.
There you go. Sam’s Club’s gift to you: sanity.
