One of the things I love about blogging is the opportunity it’s provided me to connect with other women around the country who share similar passions. One such woman is Kristin Tennant, who writes about her life as a “divorced-Christian-liberal-remarried-Midwestern-mommy-writer” at her blog, Halfway to Normal. I really enjoy Kristin’s writing because it’s honest, raw and real. She admits failures. She asks for forgiveness. She questions “normal” and she pursues community. She’s not afraid to tell you what the thinks, and she does so in a way that engages others in dialogue.
Last week, Kristin started The #lovelist project. You can read about her idea here. The gist is to identify and claim the things in your life that you love, and then share them with others. I’ve shared a few of mine on twitter, using the hashtag #lovelist. Not on Twitter? Go to search.twitter.com and type in #lovelist. You’ll see what others across the country LOVE. It may just inspire you to start your own list.
Feel free to play along…leaving your comments on Kristin’s blog, mine, or on Twitter.
A few of mine from this week: I love watching a high school kid finally jump the wake. I love the smile on his face as “Beautiful Day” plays over the speakers and the wind whips through my hair, because I’m reminded it doesn’t have to be me in the water to have a good time. I love the rush of people through Little Italy in San Francisco because it reminds me of wonderful times spent in other large cities around the world. I love when my husband cooks for me because I feel taken care of. I love cooking a meal with all fresh produce because the taste is ten times better than the frozen stuff. And, this morning I loved my early phone call from Jenny, who has a new baby boy. These things remind me life is more than routine. What do you love?
