Everlasting God

We sang Chris Tomlin’s song Everlasting God in church this morning.

Whenever I hear this song, I can only picture Jenny, who once told me that she always bounces whenever she sings it. Jenny used to have an amazing, trademark high pony tail so it’s a rather funny picture.

This morning, for the first time in a long time, I was struck so deeply in how present God is working in my life and the lives around me. This week alone, He put out fires, comforted the Westmont community, has brought new life into the world (Amy’s baby Brady, born yesterday and Jonathan’s cousin Tavis’ new baby, Josie, also born yesterday!) He has also taught us great things in the missionaries we are praying for around the globe- in India, South Africa, China, and France.

I hope the words are a blessing to you:

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord

Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary

Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary

You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
