When You Hate Your Job

I am going to brag about myself for a brief second, just because I need a confidence boost today. (I’m home by myself this weekend. I don’t have any one to stroke my ego!)

A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to start submitting some of my writing to Helium.com, a website where you can win money. It’s a cool concept– all peer reviews. Last week I submitted two articles I wrote about a year ago but never got published. I realized after I submitted them that the way the contests work is that the person with the most highly ranked articles wins. So basically you’re rewarded not just on quality, but quantity. For someone like me, who works full time and can’t crank out articles, it’s difficult to win the money. Anyway, the contest ended over a week ago and I didn’t want to go back and check on my score because I thought I might be devastated.

Good thing I just checked on my article, “What to do when you hate your job”. I got ranking #1 of 46 people!

Click here to read it! Sadly, my other article didn’t score as high. I think I talked too much about Jesus and people didn’t like that. Whatever. They don’t know how sweet He is.

1- LOVED the article! 2- those aren't your arms in the picture are they?3- I laughed while reading your article remembering how I role-played with you as the "desperate single willing to pay big bucks for set-ups."4- When you become a famous author I would like you to dedicate one book to me. Thanks.5- I'm glad you and Katie are blogging friends. 6- I'm so proud of you!7- I thought I should end on a holy number rather than Satan's.

First of all, congrats! Secondly, as of this moment I am appointing myself as your blogger friend. So nice to be commenting with you. Now that the ice has been broken, I am going to add you to my "Wall of Fame" because in all honesty, I am sick of the blogger trail I have to go through to read your posts. Anyway, just thought I should let you know that your Colorado guest suite will be ready in early June. It comes fully stocked with a bed, a bathroom (with towels), food, one hell of a sled run, Ski Resorts close by, and a gateway to three of Colorado's wonderful National Parks (it is in the mountains west of Fort Collins). You can bring Hardeman if you want...maybe we could then achieve the highly sought after trifecta of awkwardity. Oh, AND, I too fake using toilet seat covers. Sometimes me faking it actually takes longer than the person in the next toilet slot over doing it for real.

Hilarious!!! I didn't think a thing about you asking me, to be honest I don't even remember. I thought I was on my period, I had cramps like crazy, wore a pad for about a week in anticipation. February was when we had talked about starting to "try" again, but I guess God didn't want them to have to share their birthday months:) ALso funny about blue bee, found great deals on shirts, didn't feel like trying on jeans since they won't fit for long. I had found out a couple days before the sale, but we told everyone that next week. At the sale i asked k if she liked a shirt and she goes"if you were prego" i was dying because little did she know that had to be part of my shopping strategy. I read your article and you have a gift of writing!!!!
