Hi, I’m Lesley! I live in Santa Barbara, California with my college sweetheart, Jonathan, and our little ones, Anna and Owen. I’m now blogging at www.lesleym.com/blog, but this site acts as an archive for all my work from 2006-2015.

I started this blog soon after Jonathan and I moved to Sacramento for him to attend law school in 2006. I was 24 and completely confused about what I wanted to do the rest of my life.  While job hunting I took a community college writing course and began blogging. The rest is history! (You can read about all the ups and downs of our last 8 years in my archives, including our dating storyAnna’s birth, my career ups and downs, our kitchen remodelJonathan’s cancer diagnosis, Owen’s birth, our travels, our big move, and my thoughts on motherhood, amongst other things.)

These days I spend most of my time chasing and cleaning up after two very active kids, but a few days a week I work as a freelance writer and editor. I’m a regular contributor for Coffee + Crumbs, and I’ve also been published at Christianity Today’s Her.meneutics blog, (In)Courage.com, Hello Dearest, and various other places around the web. During nap times and evenings I’m trying to write my first book, a memoir about Jonathan’s cancer journey. (He’s now in remission!) Once upon a time, I signed with a literary agent and then we never found a publisher so I’m back to figuring out when and how I should publish.

When I’m not blogging, you can find me at the beach, spending time with my family, hanging out with girlfriends, running, cooking, reading or writing.

Barefoot on 45th is my little place in the world to write, to dream, and to be creative. It’s also a place for YOU. I’m really happy you’re here, and I hope you stick around awhile. It is my deepest hope that you’ll always feel like I give you a full picture of my life–the good, the bad and sometimes even the ugly. I am an imperfect person who relies on Jesus Christ to get me through each day with the grace I desperately need.

I love comments and e-mails, although if you’re going to disagree with me or another commenter (which I welcome) please do so with respect. I reserve the rights to delete comments that are hurtful or mean.

Thank you for being my audience, and for allowing me a place to be me. Please feel free to e-mail me at: lesley@barefooton45th.com
