LOVE!! The magic moments just keep coming At 18 months, Ellie is adding 3-5 new words a DAY! I mean, just this week she has started recognizing her grandparents and aunts and calling them by name. “papa, yama, Megan, Wogs” Its just the best thing ever… sorry, I digress.

Ellie has been early on her communication skills. She first signed ‘more’ at about 11 months, but I know that was early. I think ‘typical’ for signing is about 13 months.

At the risk of sounding like a therapist and old person, I think you hit on a significant point. Our children are absorbing everything at the unconscious level and when the material is all organized there it then appears in the consciousness and parents get a response. This occurs throughout their formative years, and quite a bit of it won’t be known to you until much later. It unfolds at the right time for the child. Plus it’s different for every child, which keeps a parent on their toes.

Yay Anna! I loved watching her say “num num num” before ice cream last week. I mean, she’s basically just saying what we’re all thinking. Next up: WALKING! It’s coming any day now….I can feel it.
