Summer is the time when one sheds one’s tensions with one’s clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all’s right with the world.

Picture of the Balboa Fun Zone (a favorite place of mine in the summer months) is credited to the LA Times blog. Sadly this Ferris Wheel is no longer.
p.s. This summer has so far been the very best in recent memory. I wear shorts and sandals everyday like I’m a teenager again, and hit up the pool a few times a week. I’m exhausted from chasing Anna around, but rested like I am a child again. How has your summer been treating you so far?
