I’ve mentioned a few times that we’ve been working hard on our front porch. It’s finally done, and I’m so excited to have y’all over for lemonade or a popsicle.
You’ll notice that we still have a lot of landscaping work to do, so please do not pay attention to our dead grass and dirt mounds. Also, the hearts on the house? I added those in photo editing to cover up our house numbers. This is the internet people! I’m not putting my address out there!
Our little update included the following tasks:
- Paint concrete to cover rust stains
- Remove security door
- Paint front door red and install new hardware
- New front porch railing
- New black porch light
- “New” porch swing- a freebie I up-cycled from our neighbors’ yard. (Thank you Sarah and Matt for helping!)
All of the finishing touches were completed on Fourth of July after our 5 mile race and pancake breakfast at Anna and Brett’s house. We came home, sat on the porch swing, listened to Bruce Springsteen and ate McDonalds. Does it get any more American than that? Later that night we had a few friends over and got to use the porch again. We lit fireworks in the front yard while eating Costco apple pie. It was pure bliss.
So, come on over and kick up your feet! The porch always has a spot for you.
