Well this is long overdue… I’m behind on my Friday favorites!
Do you read Cup of Jo? She linked to this sneak peak at Mindy Kaling’s (of The Office) new sitcom this fall. I’m intrigued. And hopeful.
And old work friend, Jen, just gave birth to her best friend’s daughter. The new face of surrogacy- such a cool story!
If I have my way, the next time we visit my parents will include a stop at Orange County’s first Unami Burger. Have you ever been? One time we went to one of the Los Angeles locations when Kevin worked there and we saw actors Fred Armisen and Elisabeth Moss. At the time, I had never heard of either of them.
Miraculous! Some friends of ours in Australia had angels surrounding them last weekend. Watch the camera footage of this car crash. Their two year old has since pointed around the room as to where he saw 8 angels.
Have you ever tried German rock sugar? I bought some at Teavana last week. It helps enhance the natural flavor of tea without changing it. Super recommend!
Speaking of delicious beverages–we just realized that Corti Brothers carries Sacramento’s own Two Rivers Cider. I’m not a beer fan, so I drink cider when I want a little adult beverage that’s not wine. Cider makes me feel cool. Try the pomegranate kind.
Go find a little store: an honest post about shopping Etsy, shopping local, and why it’s so important. (I love Etsy. And I love Target. Soooo…this was a good read for me.)
On our date night last week we tried Thir13en, a somewhat newish restaurant in midtown. Food was awesome, and we loved the outdoor patio atmosphere that surrounds the old Sterling Hotel. A great 12 person table inside would be perfect for a special birthday dinner.
We ordered shirts from CustomInk for Jonathan’s post cancer celebration. They were fabulous to work with…and I’d highly recommend using them for any t-shirt orders unless of course you want to support an Etsy seller instead.
Do you give blood? How about platelets? I’m excited to go back and begin donating again after taking a break to grow and nurse Anna. If you life in Central/Northern California, you can register for an appointment here.
The fried carrot cake at Firestone Public House is like a carnival ride in your mouth. I can’t remember the special name they had for it, I just know it’s worth a calorie laden trip back in the future.
