This post is part of The Gypsy Mama’s Five Minute Friday series. The rules: 1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking 2. Link back here and invite others to join in. 3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
Give me eyes to see, God.
Let me see her eyes for what they’re really saying.
Let me see his needs when I’m tired and angry.
Let me see her hair grow blonder and thicker.
Let me see the women on the street, and help me not to judge.
Let me see the bees buzzing and the flowers blooming and the popsicle melting down Louie’s little round belly.
Let me see opportunities to change.
And help me not see the smushed up Cheerios and the stack of laundry and the weeds in our front lawn, because sometimes those things just distract me from all that is good.
p.s. I broke the first rule and did a tiny little edit, and I did a little too much thinkin’ too.
