DIY Chair Project

The chair on the left is the "before" while the one of the right is the finished product.

Months ago I found two chairs at a local antique shop. Each cost $10 but they needed some work. Of course, nursery prep took a lot of time in the spring and early summer so I only recently got around to the chair makeover.

My sister came to visit Anna a few weekends ago. Allison is very creative and much more confident with a drill, hammer, and paint than I will ever be. One afternoon, while I nursed Anna in the backyard, Allison began to work on one of the chairs. We took turns cleaning it up and over the course of the next few days I added a coat of paint here and there. A trip to Jo Ann’s resulted in a $10 piece of clearance fabric that matches our kitchen perfectly. The result is a cute, white desk chair to complete my corner kitchen work station. Now I just need to convince Allison to come back and help me sand the remaining chair for our guest room. Sister? Come back soon!
