It’s extraordinary to me that the United States can find $700 billion to save Wall Street and the entire G8 can’t find $25 billion dollars to saved 25,000 children who die every day from preventable diseases. – Bono, rock star and anti-poverty activist. My boss told me today that he read this bailout will cost every American citizen $7,000 each / $400 per year in taxes.

And, isn’t it funny that the former CEO of AIG (who was only with the company from June 2008-early September) was offered a $22 MILLION DOLLAR severance package? In one bit of good news, he said this week: “I prefer not to receive severance payments while shareholders and employees have lost considerable value in their AIG shares” (courtesy of ABC News).

Sigh. I don’t know nearly enough about our economy but I do know that I don’t like seeing $7,000 leave my wallet. Grrrrrr….
