Sometimes you need to just get away from it all. Slow down. Take deeper breaths. Smell salty air. Be away from a computer. Take a three hour nap. Laugh hard. Eat smores and hobo joes and greasy bacon. Wear the same cloths. Be dirty.
We got to do a lot of the above this weekend in Bodega Bay. Our second annual camping trip was not as sunny as everyone had hoped (fog most of the weekend) but, it was a much needed retreat from thinking, and moving, and go, go going all the time.
I came home to a bubble bath, Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie and an hour of Olympic coverage to catch up on. Go Michael Phelps. I never doubted you but I still think Natalie Couglin and Dara Torres are my favorites. They’re awesome.
Pray for my husband as he’s traveling cross country this week with Sarah. Boston here I come in t-minus three days! (p.s. Not my picture…mine are still in my camera which Jonathan has with him this week.)

did you tell me you were going to bodega bay?!? I can’t remember. anyway, you practically drove past my parent’s house. not surprised it was foggy, but it is beautiful, isn’t it? where’d you camp?
Rachel– thought of you when we passed the Sepastopol sign.
And I waved at your parents. We camped at Bodega Dunes.
