My legal skills are limited. (Legally Blonde, Jodi Piccoult and John Grisham anyone?) I think the last time I was in a courtroom was in third grade when my class did the mock trial of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I was Goldilocks. It was adorable.
Today, I was back on the witness stand as Mr. Cannon, the defendant in a wreckless driving case. My attorney? The wonderful, Jonathan E. Miller Esquire (almost). I had a blast.
Even though I’ve gotten to see Jonathan finish three sets of finals– I’ve never watched him in action. Tonight I was able to see a full, fake trial during his Moot Court class. And, I was part of it!
Jonathan did an incredible job. Really and honestly, I’m not just saying that because I’m his wife. He was well spoken, on his feet and creative. I wasn’t the only one who noticed. His professor spent about 15 minutes talking about how well both him and the other student did in their roles and said, and I quote, “I truly hope to see both of you become litigators.”
I seriously almost teared up and squeeled. But, I refrained. That would have been awfully embarrassing for him. 🙂
How cool is that!?!? It’s not every day you get to watch someone you love have success. Tonight made my week…maybe even my month!
